The Pontiac Firebird was introduced to the market in 1967. It happens to be the only year where the VIN plate was a stainless steel plate riveted to the door jamb. All subsequent years till the Firebird was pulled off the Pontiac production line had their VIN plate located on the dash panel in front of the driver and in full view through the windshield.
